Stylus pro 5000 cover

I'm getting pizza wheel problems on some papers with a Stylus Pro 5000 
printer and would like to put a couple of washers under the holding 
strip.
Problem is I cannot see any obvious way of removing the cover to gain 
access. If anyone has done this mod on a 5000 I'd be grateful to know how 
the cover comes off and anything to watch out for.
