  <DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Just thought I would pass on a hint that may save
  some users some heartache. </FONT></DIV>
  <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>My calibrated systems produce good color and
quadtone prints now --- except I could never figure out why the scans from a
Minolta Dimage Multi always were darker in Photoshop 5.5&nbsp; ( Adobe RGB )
than they were in PS 4 or on the web. Of course, I could work around it, but,
no matter how I tried I could not find a profile change that would make them
identical. The scanner is on a PC platform ( NT ). </FONT></DIV>
  <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Well yesterday, going through the Mac side of the
Minolta CD I found an ICC Profile that does not exist on the PC side. I copied
it to a floppy, then into the WinNT&gt;System32&gt;Color directory and added
.icm to the name. Opened the saved scan in PS 5.5 choosing do not convert then
ran a profile to profile ( Minolta Dimage Multi to Adobe RGB ). BINGO! Results
right on every time. B&amp;W scans I convert to RGB with no profile
conversion, then do the Minolta to Adobe P to P --- again perfect density.
Then using the CMYK&nbsp;conversion - channel mixer changes recommended by
George de Wolfe printed to Somerset Enhanced Satin using MIS sixtones on a
E750. Very good results. Happy to hang them on a wall.</FONT></DIV>
  <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Why Minolta does not stress this profile exists
is a mystery to me. Does anyone know if there is a icc profile for the
  Polaroid Sprint Scan 4000?</FONT></DIV>
