<< Rafe: Once again, for the 4th time, actually, I say: Forget third party
inks for any epson printer except the 3000. IT AIN'T WORTH THE HASSLE!
The colors are NEVER as good as the Epson inks. None of the epson
oem/compatible colors can even come close to printing a gray scale
without crossover, and they usually print the colors way too red. Stick
with the Epson inks, and get them at Buycomp.com or some other place
that sells them inexpensively.
Maybe when someone finds a good price on a certain epson cartridge from
buycomp. they could post it here. They change the prices weekly at
least. Sometimes they are nearly as cheap as the imitators. (Which all
seem to be made in China, by the way).

Now now Jerry just because you had a problem with refiliing does not mean it
is not a path for some to try! Are you sure you want to continue to pay
$20,000 a gallon for ink when you can get great results at less than $100 a
gallon?
The main problem with almost all refill kits out there is they do not tell
you the correct and incorrect way to fill a cartridges.
I can and often do refill 25 CC 1520 cartridge ( black) in less than 45
seconds and yes I get perfect and I mean 100% perfect photo prints.
But then I must have done this like 300 + ( maybe 1000?) times.
I took a real hard look at the way most guys try to tell you to refill it is
totally not the way to go!
I have bonded in vacuum fittings that allow me to connect in seconds then I
get a 100 to 200 CC flush volume of recharge ink. This is a $5 investment
that has paid me back many 1000's of times. Most ( all) refill kit supply
firms do not want to make that $5 investment they think this is lost profit
when in fact when they do not design a real kit ( that woks) they have a lost
customer who will never come back after they have tried refilling like you
will never refill I am sure because you had had enough of the lies. Hey I was
just like you
I totally flood the upper sponge decks in the cartridges and I never get
drips!
Now don't get me wrong here refilling is not an instinctive skill like so
many think it is a skill that must be taught so far there is not a single
firm I know of is willing to make that investment they just want you to buy
the " refill kit" and 9 times out of 10 it is a piece of crap that will not
work!
I really have saved over $20,000 by not using Epson Cartridges you see you
really do pay about $20,000 a gallon or more if you use the throw away
cartridges.
And even it the cartridge holds 25 CC you will be lucky if you can get 15 CC
out of it that is a lot of ink to throw away at $20,000 a gallon and that is
just what you do each time you throw away a cartridge!
The sponge cartridges I have refilled about 75 to 90 times or more and they
still work great!
So please before you trash the refill approach just make sure you are aware
that some folks do get real good results! I would never never never again pay
$50 or more for a cartridge when for less than $1 I get better prints!
Hey look I was where you are now 2 years ago I tried what "the experts had to
say about refilling" and it was a total mess with crap prints. I spent a lot
of my time to get a perfect refill system!
I am sure that as more folks realize the fortune they are spending on those
tiny cartridges the market for refilling will explode I plan o be there!
So I agree with you that some ( most ) refill methods do not work be assured
that some do! I have proven it for 2 years now!
Do not forget it was TomCat that posted a lot of refill and clog busting
tricks that really work It was not one of those "refilling experts from a
ink supply house". You see once the truth is out that the kits they make do
not work like what can they say... so they say nothing!
They just hope nobody will learn the truth that reflling is a pain a mess and
does not work when you try to do it on the cheap! And so far they all try to
do it on the cheap and guess what it is not working!
I can not tell you of the joy when each time I install a refilled cartridgfe
set I refilled I know I saved like $50 to $70!! This is by far the biggest
advantage I have over all throw away cartridge printers. My real cost for a
$50 print job is less than $2 to $3 in total materials! They would have 10
times or more this cost if they used throw away cartridges
I sure remember the stress i had when I first tried refilling by following
what the experts had to say how to refill man what a joke they did not have a
clue about the mechanics of what really goes wrong or right when refilling!
The truth is out there refilling can work buy you have to invest some
time and money nothing is for free guys!
