Mike - Yes, call me Fletch, everyone else does. You may be right about CCD scanners being pos -scan image manipulators. I don't know from direct experience on that. However, from flow scematics I have seen describing some of them, indications are that software set-up adjustments at the scanner do apply to the scanned image before conversion from analog to digital info. But that's about as far as I will venture on the subject of CCD. Except one last thing. Concerning the Leica scanning camera and Silverfast: I am virtually certain that all maniputalions to the scanned image were done on the fly in the analog state, before digital conversion. What I programmed in the scan set-up was what I got at the workstation. Am I missing something here? Fletch - Turn off HTML mail features. Keep quoted material short.
