Rafe:

I may be totally off base on this, but for a short while I
used 1.8 gamma on my PC.  A few images I finished and
printed were in the Colormatch space at 1.8.  When I changed
back to 2.2 and calibrated monitor to same, there was of
course a striking change in the way the monitor displayed
the images.

Here's the part where I get fuzzy...uncheck "Preview Using
Monitor Compensation" in that box in RGB Setup.  Does your
image suddenly look like you remember it in PS4??  Mine did
(like 1.8).  Out of curiousity, I printed one using the
usual settings and it came out perfect.  I then started
comparing known values (like 128 grey) and lo and behold
they were now 12 or so points different, but still printed
out correctly.

I think 'finished' files will not be a problem, but I'd
really like to know whether my memory has gone out the
window or not!  Let me know what you discover.  8(
