How old is to old? I'm thinking that within a month, I'll probably
re-install a partially used cartridge.

I didn't know in general if the ink dries out, or if air bubbles might get
into it, or other weird esoteric thing. I put the used cartridge in a
plastic ziplock bag for storage.
