This is true, you'll see how it fits. The bigger question is how big things like titled buttons are on the page. At 640x480 on a 14" monitor, graphics that look good on a 17" monitor can become uncomfortably small. It's actually better to do some math and set the larger monitor at a resolution that will simulate the size of the smaller monitor.
