re: exit seals on epson cartridges

Are there any known problems with the seals on the exit ports for the Epson
750? I filled my first never used, empty cartridge with MIS archival ink and
it worked perfectly. When it came time to refill, I taped the exit ports.
Once re-installed, I could not get the cartridge to print properly, despite
many cleaning cycles interspersed with printed pages. Finally, I took it
out, put in new replacement seals, topped it up and re installed. Ran one
cleaning cycle and all was well. Does it need to be a really tight fit
around the ink nozzles? Can air get in otherwise? Or was this maybe just a
fluke incident. Perhaps its better to use new seals each time. Certainly
less messy! Tina Martin
