This is just my $.02. I'm on eight lists and average 150 - 250 messages a day. Some of the lists are very tight & well (self) managed.
With close to 100 messages a day on the Epson list alone, I rarely have any time to read this list - I remain on it only to keep as an archive and very occasionally post to. These are the biggest problems as I see it.
BTW - If these are not your problems: "just walk on by" or post to me directly if you'd like to discuss it.
BB OR CHAT ROOM?
This list often seems to be more of a chat room. With lotsa of me too's as well.
I would prefer just the important info - humor is enjoyable as long as it is in this context.
If I want to partake in friendly banter I will go to a chat room.
If you've found a friend on this BB continue communicating directly - not on the board.
MIS-TITLED SUBJECT LINES
When I finally do have a look at some posts as many times as not they have nothing to do with the subject.
If your topic migrates add an additional few words to the subject line so we don't waste our time wading thru it all. (see above)
If this had been done more the archives would be a lot more useful - further reducing
postings.
(Please don't tell me to use the delete button until you have calculated and reported the time taken in one month to go thru 100 posts a day).
LEARN TO EDIT
Clip those messages down to the bare minimum (see below) .
If you are in the US you may not realize that not everyone gets unlimited connection time for a set fee. Many if not most countries outside the US charge per minute/hour of use.
Careless un-edited responses only increase this - try to be responsible to your fellow Epsonite.

I personally don't mind OT - as long as it is noted as such in the subject line.
Keeping this list lean and mean will not only give you more time for your creative endeavors, but will also help attract and keep the very insightful & knowledgeable individuals that will benefit all of our interactions on this list.
If you agree with some of these points please don't post a me too - just do it.
If you don't agree and have to rant - send it directly to me instead of clogging up everyones box.
