It's really odd to hear photographers in the digital age talking like they still have to make prints in the darkroom. You've forgotten that while there was a time when an expenditure of paper and chemistry was necessary to do anything more than squint at a negative, those days are over. Nonetheless, the art of selecting one's best work is as pertinent as ever. Just because you have digital tools at hand doesn't mean you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
