RE: Photoshop 5 printing update and Win98SE

I just checked out the article and it is excellent! Thanks, Kokleong.

Also here is a copy of a note I just sent off a note to Ian Lyons, which may
be of some interest to the list:

Ian, thanks for an excellent article. The information on Win98 SE was
particularly valuable.

If you remember, after your first article on Epson settings was published on
Kokleong's site, I took exception to your recommendations for the settings
(because they resulted in prints that were too dark from my EX).

Well, you were right ... the problem was monitor calibration! I have now
used Prove It (with a colorimeter) on my flat panel and am now finding that
the settings you suggested are right on. So I have learned what a difference
calibration makes.

One thing about this quest for the perfect inkjet print ... new discoveries
(and, unfortunately, headaches and expense) lie around every corner.

Thanks again for the great work you are doing.
Cathy

Hi everyone,

Have a look at this latest article by Ian Lyons which I have just posted at
my
site
 http://lioncity.s-one.net.sg/~printer/print/ian_winse/

It's an update on Photoshop 5 printing with lots of info on:-
1 latest drivers for the 700/EX/1200/750
2. info on Windows NT
3 comments on the latest changes brought on by Windows 98 SE and a method
which
allows non-phoshop users (eg even Word) to use custom profiles.
4. 4 recommended settings and their results

As always, feedback and corrections are welcome. Hope you find the article
useful.
