When I printed the test page for my Epson 1200 printer I noticed it said that the driver was version 4.0. Browsing through Epson's web site I came across a listing of their current drivers for the 1200 with Windows 95 and 98: version 4.5CE. Hmmm... I figured I was out of date, despite having the printer only since early June. So I downloaded the file, SP1245CE.EXE and ran it. Never having updated a driver from a download, I assumed the new version would automatically be placed, taking the place of the old. This apparently is not the case, as the test page still shows 4.0 as the current driver. I have no shame in admitting my ignorance here. Can someone tell me: 1. Is my surmise correct that my present driver should be updated? The printer is performing just fine, by the way. 2. If an update is in order, how is it accomplished? Nowhere in the help files or manual is anything mentioned about updating printer drivers. Any help will be appreciated. Please be gentle. :-) Bob Clemens - * Dygraphics is proud to introduce Somerset Photo Enhanced!! * * This unique coated paper is now available in limited quantities. * * Order on-line or by phone 888-786-8832: http//www.dygraphics.com *
