((((Subject: Re: New paper(atten: Jerry Olson and all) said:: Jerry, I'm in your camp; these papers are far and away too expensive. Doing16x20 photographic prints, I have to make proof prints to examine problems in detail before delivering a final product. At $5-6 per sheet of paper, plus ink costs, it's flat unaffordable; you can't sell prints to customers at high enough prices to justify this. Peter Stewart))) from : Giannetti If the paper and ink is to expensive but it does the job use it, why dont you use the regular Epson paper for proofs and the expensive paper to give to the client, the rule of thumb at the business school's is if you dont make at least 100% percent profit then your not charging enough. My rule is you charge a lot more than what you first think it's worth and do the best job you can using the best materiel possible. You will walk away a happy man they will walk away a happy customer, after all what you are selling is your talent not a bushel of oranges I sell some of my work for the amount that i think it is worth then add 200 percent to that, if the image makes them feel good and / or conveys the message Im happy and they are happy. Their was a photographer back in the 70â s that charged 5 or 6 thousand a day and people had to wait three months before they get to shoot with him his name wasä Iriving Pennä and then thier was alsoä Hiro ãand when you talked to the art director afterwards they would act like the got the most incredible job for very little money. So charge more Its the image, not the process and certainly not what people think its worth - * Dygraphics is proud to introduce Somerset Photo Enhanced!! * * This unique coated paper is now available in limited quantities. * * Order on-line or by phone 888-786-8832: http//www.dygraphics.com *
