Yes you can geet usaable, but not great scans from this type of scanner with film/slides. TEh d-range of 3.3 will catch most of the range of a slide, and the 36 bit will get what you need for film. The magnified resolution will get almost enough pixels, thoug I won't swear that the sharpness and actual data in thses pixels is all it could be, but for a flatbed it should do pretty well... the software will be your greatest limitation, if you get really tired of it you could get SilverFast instead, but it will not be cheap for a tabloid machine... > >3) I am also going to be using a G3 Mac. Depends on the G3; the beige ones just plug in with a serial cable... with the B&W G3s you will need to decide if you are going to use a network card in the printer, or some other adaptor. A serial card can be used, but seems like a waste of a slot if you can find another solution you are happy with. C.
