Jim and All, As you know, modems are extremely sensitive to 'line noise.' Line noise can be caused by crossover from a second line in your home or office or merely from the line connecting your modem to your ISP at any given time. The route the line takes can change from call to call and at any moment some outside influence can sever your link. However, if you are disconnected at similarly measured intervals, some type of software driven timing mechanism is probably at cause.
