Sure -- this is a relatively low resolution scanner that was used for years
by people who wanted to put their negs and slides onto VCR's and TV monitors.
If they're still available, B&H sells them. While it eliminates a trip through
the enlarger, it replaces it with a trip through the Fotovix, so I don't think
you save on neg wear and tear that way. It's a quick way to see what's on the
neg, though, so it was fairly popular (if a bit pricy).
