Tony The 24 is the little brother to the NovaJet which is a 36" x 300dpi, of which I have 2. Poster quality is very good @ 300 dpi especially if you start with a good image. You will only need to present 75 DPI to the RIP. eg. I scan a 35 mm @ 2000 dpi and a 36" x24" comes out very well. My RIP is the Photoscript lite and I have no probs with it. Dirt cheap from Mediastreet.com. You will have problems though with anything thicker than 180 gsm.( dont know lbs.) watercolour paper eg - the CP Arches that I use is borderline because the Heads tend to catch as they traverse the paper. If you can keep around 7 mil. you wont have any probs with Photo Paper such as Ilford. I also have 3000s and honestly there is no comparison at Photo quality, but if you can get the colours right I find large WC prints look quite good at 1 metre and behind glass - as all prints should be.
