that's what I do too (for medium format), except my scanner does the neg
inversion for me. Great way to do contact sheets - and using an Epson
printer, too!

Robert, which flatbed scanner might this be?

This sounds like the best bet so far.

How about "inversion" in Photoshop?  Most
of us find this iffy -- but then again for
this purpose, it needn't be perfect.

Nice idea, though.  Seems it's time to get
me a flatbed scanner.
