Maybe that's one of the benefits of me living here in sunny, southern "it's a dry heat", California. I'm not the most organized person in the world. I'll leave freshly ripped prints laying around for months on counters (literally) and I never notice any fading. They're dusty ... but not faded. However, they do not receive direct sun. It seems like there are many, many variables that affect the longevity of these prints. Glass, no glass ... spray, no spray, paper, ink, atmospheric conditions ... etc, etc. I don't have the answer. I can only relate my experiences. I was only commenting on leaving the prints in direct sun. I know that soaking them in gasoline wouldn't be good for them either but I don't need to test it to find out. What was different in the print that lasted only 2 days verses the other ones that didn't fade? I think maybe your answer lies in that difference. I'm well aware that this technology is far from perfect. For that reason, I would never, ever sell them to clients or customers. At least not until the longevity issue improves. But for my portfolio purposes ... it's perfect! I feel your pain .... Phil Shockley - Shock Photographic - Please: Stay on topic.
