Before you go buying a rip go to www.wasatchinc.com. Read their
information on rips and color management. This will give you a very good
education on why you should use a rip if you are going to do
professional work. 

After you have done that then go searching for a rip. Wasach makes a
couple of good ones but they have a good price tag with them. Depending
what you want a rip to do you can find LE versions that are reasonably
priced.
