Depends on what you intend to do with the pictures you take. If your going to just put them on the web, use as background, or include the pics in a WORD doc the Mavica is just fine. I have one at work we bought to document some testing and its just fine. If you want to replace a 35mm type camera use then you should look at a megapixel digital camera. I have an Olympus D600L (1280x1024).
