Birmy will print seperations, it may take a trick or too to force it to print your halftone dots instead of diffusion dithering, but it is possible to print sepertions for screenprinting with a 3000, I've done it on several occasions. Loadng Brimy on your machine should not cause problems with other types of use, it's quite compatable. C.
