Hi Jeff,

if you drive on a road with a car or a bike at 50mph it takes the same time
to get from A to B but you leave less tracks on the road when using a bike.
That's what the print head does: it has to go the same ways as when printing
at 360dpi but it uses only half of the nozzles and prints instead a bigger
dot. So the effective fireing rate becomes lower because the head already
moves at maximum speed.
