I presume you have tried changing the black cartridge? The same thing happened to me today and I called Epson - after trying more cleaning routines, the tech support guy insisted that the black cartridge was empty - and, indeed, when I removed it, no black ink was coming out. Since it was only a few weeks old and the status monitor hadn't indicated that it was empty (not even flashing), I kind of doubt that, but it must have been clogged solid. The techie did say that the status monitor could mal function if you have the printed plugged into a surge suppressor instead of the wall, but it's never happened before. I have been printing a lot of black lately though ... so, who knows? Hi all, I have a Photo Stylus which will no longer print black. I have run the cleaning routine a dozen plus times with very little improvement. I'm hoping that the next step doesn't have to be shipping the printer to Epson. Is there anything else I can do to clean the nozzles?
