Low resolution printing on 900

I picked up my Color 900 last night (my first color printer) and 
started playing with it.  I started at 360 dpi "normal", and had thin 
dark horizontal bands spaced about 1/2 inch apart.  These 
disappeared at higher resolutions (and the low res. print was very 
grainy), but I can imagine wanting to run off quick copies for non-
critical applications. Are these bands normal at this setting?
