cleaning heads/skid marks

Printing 11x17 (A3) on a ProXL I am getting skid marks the length of the 
paper on the left side. I have tried cleaning the heads several times I have 
printed the default font page and that is fine. Printing from Quark with 
heavy ink coverage. The skid mark is left by only the black ink. Replaced the 
cartridge and that is not the problem. Any suggestions?
