BWG3 & Photo EX w/ USB>Parallel vs. 1200(all USB)

Hi Y'all,

I have a two-week-old PowerMac "Blue & White" 400 mhz machine, which
is hooked up to my Photo EX with Epson's USB-to-Parallel Port adapter,
working flawlessly with the Epson EX driver supplied on the MacOS 8.5.1
System Software CD.

I'm curious about the speed of this printer/adapter configuration versus
a 1200 with its built-in USB port. I typically print out flattened RGB
Photoshop files in the 20 to 30 megabyte file-size range, if that helps.
I assume the 1200 is incrementally faster than the EX at printing--
I'm mostly wondering about the data throughput of the USB>Parallel
solution versus USB-to-USB.

Does anyone have any comments/experience regarding comparative
performance? Is there any advantage or disadvantage hooking a 1200
up to a USB hub versus plugging it into one of the USB ports in the back of
my Mac??

Thanks a bunch for your wisdom, all you lively, smart people on this list.
