You must have Classic running at the same time as OS X. Classic contends
with Mac OS X and grabs the printer, causing a communications error. You
should stop the job - no need to stop the entire queue - and then
restart the job in order for Mac OS X to gain control.
If you don't need the printer in Classic, go to the Chooser and
de-select it (i.e., choose something else). This sometimes works. If
have a C80, and since upgrading to 10.1.5 I have difficulty printing in
both Classic and OS X.
There is currently no other workaround - and all printers, not just
Epson, are affected.
