Dirty Heads - Epson 3000
Okay, with over 100,000 messages to wade through, I think I'm going to
just ask my question and hope you all will forgive me if it's been
covered before.
I have an Epson Stylus 3000 I'm using with a Mac PowerPC 9600. My
printouts showed the typical indication that the heads needed to be
cleaned. I ran the Nozzle Check and Head Cleaning utilities about 10
times but I'm still getting gaps in the test pattern as well as
anything I print.
I strongly suspect that I have cat fur wedged down under the print
head, if that's possible. (I have five cats and am not a very good
housekeeper!) Is there anything I can do short of carrying the printer
to a service center to be cleaned?
I seem to remember somewhere back in the dark, deep recesses of my mind
hearing about a special paper that is used to clean print heads. Is
this just wishful thinking, or does such a thing exist? Is there
something else I might run through the printer to help loosen any cat
fur (or whatever) that might be down there?
Thanks for your help,
Sue
