Believe it or not <g> I couldn't agree more.

Having to flip the book reads as "bad design" in an art directors eye, and
they are hiring you for your design sense. Would they trust someone to shoot
a magazine cover if they don't think they can compose to the format of the
page?

My favorites are custom made square books or folios. The square format
allows for horizontal or vertical placement on the page, and they both look
like they belong.
