Epson 3000 smudging

My Epson 3000 has started to develop the following problem.

On the border of the print (2") close to where the print heads are parked
there is a light magenta smudge along side the print. It does stop where the
print ends - the bottom & top border are not affected.  So far I cannot
detect a problem on the actual print area, but then it's probably to light
to notice-yet.

Could it be that my magenta cartridge has been re-filled one time to many?
