My 1270 did the same thing.  I even pulled the heads out to check them.  It
went through the motions, but just wouldn't print. I was out of warranty by
2 weeks.  I pushed cleaning fluid through the heads until nothing but
cleaning solution came out.

Epson gave me another under warranty.  In fact they were kind enough to give
me 3 more before I got one that kept working.
