RE: Quick question: Power on or off?
I left my 2000p turned on for 18 months straight. Most of that time
it worked fine. After a certain point though I started getting really
really really bad smears of black ink all over everything - coming
from the print head. When I had it serviced I was told that the
problem was leaving it on all that time, as the heads weren't
correctly parked and so lots of dust and gunk was able to collect
around the print head, causing ink to smear.
I've gotten this same story from both Epson and the independent
repair shop I visited, so I'm inclined to believe it.
