Re: Head guide rails clean & lube - head
John,
According to the WD-40 website, WD-40 contains no silicone.

Being used as a solvent to remove adhesives is among its most common
applications. How this will react with the materials used to construct
things like print heads, belts, rollers, I do not know. My concern is with
experimenting on a printer whose innerds I do not know well (at least in
terms of the materials used and how they react to chemicals).
