I would be very cautious about using WD-40 on a printer. It is, after all,
as much a solvent/de-greaser as it is a lubricant. I certainly would never
consider spraying it on the rail. If anything, I would slightly moisten a
q-tip or lint-free cloth and wipe the rail. I shudder to think what might
be the outcome if the rubber belt and/or rollers got coated with it.
