Re: Virus Detected on mu ISP Server This is a HOAX!!!!!

Just do a search with www.goolge.com and you will find it a HOAX, do not delete it.....
A virus warning is making the rounds urging people to search for a purported virus on their hard drives - a file named JDBGMGR.EXE. Chances are, they will find it, because the "warning" is a hoax.

According to several anti-virus companies, the hoax first appeared in April, but two new variants of the message have been spotted in the last three days.

Hello:

I received this from a family member.  I know nothing more that what is stated below.  I am sending this to all in my address book.  This is the second attempt to do a bulk mailing as some where returned.  Sorry if this is a duplicate message.

Subject: Virus Detected on mu ISP Server

"I have just found out about a virus that was sent to me. It has infected my Address Bookand has posibbly infected your's too. This virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is no detected by Norton or McMcAfee anti-virus systems. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It's sent automatically by the messenger and by the Address Book, whether or not you sent e-mails to your contacts. Whe have checked, found it, and deleted it.
Here's how to check for it and delete it."
1) Go to Start, Find or Search option
2) In the files/folder option, write the name jdbgmgr.exe
3) Be sure you search you c:drive
4)Click "find now"
5)The virus has a teddybear icon withthe name jdbgmrg.exe
6)Right click and delete it. it will then go into the recycle bin.
7) Go to the recycle bin and delete it from there as well - IMPORTANT

If you find the virus, yuou must contact all the people in your address book so they can get rid of it in their own address books.

Note: This is my first experience with a VIRUS. Therefore I have addressed this subject
post via the manual user-name address format.

I tried to follow the above procedure as outlined and it seems to be staying or not going away from Davina's username even though I could see the teddbear icon and the jbdgmgr
deleted and or disappear.
