The top of the ink head carriage hangs on the vertical metal frame flange
behind which you can see the white ribbon cable. The back of this metal
flange is also a lubricated slide area. If this is dirty, or has lost its
light grease lubrication it could also induce friction and cause the head
slamming.
Also be sure the CIS hoses are not causing any friction.
