from MacNN: Epson intros new wide-format inkjets Epson today introduced the Stylus Pro 7600 ($3,000) and the Stylus Pro 9600 ($5,000), new 24-inch-wide and 44-inch-wide photographic printers featuring a new seven-color UltraChrome Ink System and a new interchangeable black ink system (standard Photo Black ink and an optional Matte Black ink). The new printers can be configured at purchase time for use with six-color Epson Photographic Dye rather than the new seven-color pigment-based UltraChrome ink. Both offer 2,880 x 1,440 dpi resolution, BorderFree printing, print speeds 2.5 times faster than their predecessors, an entirely-new Epson photographic driver, and USB 2.0/FireWire/parallel interfaces (and an optional network card).
