archival problem Epson Premium Luster

A curious reality has appeared in relation to the "whiteness" of the 
Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper darkening over a short period of 
time using metallic inks in a 5500. Had a test print on the wall 
since October. Placed another new print on the wall & found the white 
of the October print had darkened quite a
bit visually. The prints are in a low light setting unless I have the 
Quartz lighting on which is not a lot of the time. Is this a common 
problem with the new papers?  If so, it seems like a contradiction to 
the term "archival".
