driver for Win 2000 before you can install the status monitor files.  I also
believe you cannot install the Win 2000 status monitor file with the printer
driver for the Epson printers that comes with and is supplied by Microsoft
as part of Win XP; if you do install the Microsoft WinXP printer driver for
the Espon printer the status monitor files will not install properly or run
as it should.  I am running the Win 2000 Epson printer and status monitor
drivers on my Win XP Home Edition machine for an Epson 1200 without any
problems; and they function the same as the old Win 98 drivers did giving me
all the same options.

I'm in a similar bind; I have a 3000 I'd like to use on my new XP system,
but:

1) the "standard" MS 3000 driver is limites and doesn't have the status
monitor
2) Epson doesn't have an XP driver at all for the 3000
3) The Epson driver for Windows 2000 works, but it doesn't seem to have a
status monitor either.

Hmmmm?????

you might want to ask yourself what you're missing not having Status
Monitor. If you have backup carts, or a CIS, the lack of Stat Mon is no
biggie to me, anyway. What I miss is access in the driver to higher res,
more paper types, etc.
