That would assume that the interior volume is 100% full without any airspace in a new cart. I suspect it would be easier (and less destructive) to weigh a full cart and then subtract the weight of an empty cart. Unfortunately, I don't have an accurate enough scale for small weights, so I was hoping someone may have done this already. Clean it off, seal the hole and submerge it in a graduated measuring cup holding a known amount of water. Then estimate what fraction of the cart is plastic and what is ink chamber. Make another guess about how much waste ink remains in a cart when you remove it. Or you could slice off the top (and maybe a couple of fingers), remove the sponge and see how much water the chamber(s) holds. Or make an approximate measurement of the ink chamber and calculate the volume from the measurements. One cubic inch is about .55 ounce. Bruce Roorda Possum Hill Farm
