1280 problem on WallStreet running MacOS 9.1 or 9.2.2

HELP! I cannot print to my 1280 from my WallStreet G3 laptop using ethernet 
or airport/farallon connections. My machine freezes during spooling & about 
one inch of job prints. I restart. Reset the printer. Items in spool folder 
can then be printed. Printing anything new freezes machine again. (I turned 
off Epson Launcher because it wouldn't quit at shutdown on any networked 
machine. Memory allocations were increased greatly in Picture Viewer & Epson  
Monitor3). I CAN print same files to a HP4M+ and Phaser 560 on the same 
network using ethernet or airport/farallon connections.
   Epson thought it was the parallel port, but it prints same files fine from 
my PC when directly connected to the parallel port. They sent a new print 
server that also failed to print. Machine prints exact files fine from USB 
port using USB PC-card on my laptop with all other setting the same. A G4 on 
the same AppleShare IP network running OS 9.2.2 and same software (plus OS X) 
can print same files from both ethernet and airport connections.
I've tried:
-turning off all but Epson & base extensions
-removing all non-system fonts
-zapping PRAM
-rebuilding desktop
-standing on my head & clapping three times
-even reinitialized my hard drive and did a clean install of only MacOS 
9.2.2, Farallon Wireless software, Explorer 5.0, Outlook Express 5.0, AOL 5.0 
with TCP/IP connection, MS Office 98, InDesign 2.0.
   Printed fine with each install, even from airport/Farallon connection. Now 
after two days of using the machine, I'm back to the same months-old problem.
   I've tried everything I can think of. Maybe a new perspective can see what 
I'm missing. Has anyone else encountered these problems? Any advise would be 
greatly appreciated.
