Win XP Epson drivers will not support 1440dpi. It is a very simplified version.
Epson suggests that you download the Win 2000 driver to get back the full
usage of your Stylus 740 printer - I was not able to do this and uninstalled
the XP to go back to my original ME.

1440 x 720 dpi.
I have Windows XP professional using Adobe Photoshop Elements connecting to
the printer using USB.
