Try this. Go to Start/Settings/printers and right-click on your printer
icon, then left-click on Properties. Select the Tab "Main" then press
radio button "Custom". You should get a drop-down screen with a
selection for 1440 dpi. OK yourself out of this.
Check this each time before printing because this is not the default
setting.
I had the same puzzle until I experimented all over the Epson windows.
BTW, I found no visible difference versus the normal settings on the
prints I was making. Just slower. Your mileage may vary.
