A BROAD GENERALIZATION would be that uncoated papers work better with dye
inks than coated papers do (as far as longevity of image without some post
spray fixation) and inkjet receptive coated papers work better with pigment
based inks than uncoated papers do (uncoated papers tend to have too much
ink bleed/dot gain resulting in a dull/muddy appearing image). There are
exceptions to every rule though <G>!
