Printing beyond inkjet
One of your listserv members mentioned a color booklet selling for $12.00.
It would be great if members could describe the process of moving materials
from inkjet proofing to actual printing on a small scale. What format is
the material best submitted? Is text submitted separate from photographs?
Does one have to do trapping, ICC color profiles and other technicalities?
On approaching printers, what questions are important to ask? What prices
can one expect from a small press run of say, 500 or less? Does one save
money by doing collating, stapling and packaging? At what point does it
become necessary to move out of inkjet printing to presses--10, 25, or 100
copies? I have in mind school calendars and art booklets. Thanks,
