There could be an issue that laptops have a lot of non-changeable hardware
and drivers for newer chips may not be available for win98.
I have a laptop that came with XP Professional and I can't see why Win98
would be preferable. So far, everything I have plugged into it except an
Epson 1640 works fine. Some things work better.
