Monaco EZcolor

Is anyone familiar with this program for custom profiling? Having never
used my older version, I just bought the update and discovered lots of
difficulties using it. First of all I'm using Silverfast scanning software
with IT8
calibration. Since my Polaroid 4000 scanner already has a Silverfast
profile, I believe that this would not allow me to make a Monaco
"source" profile. Since Silverfast is already calibrated, couldn't I just
use the Silverfast profile as the "source" profile? In reading the
documentation, I see that you have to make a new printer profile each
time you change a scanner setting, such as gamma, brightness, or
contrast. If this is the case, one would be forced to relinquish the
color controls available in Silverfast and do all correcting in Photoshop,
totally negating the power of Silverfast. I wonder if my understanding
is correct or not? Together with the complex provess involved in making a
profile for each paper, is this progam at all worthwhile?
