> Any comments or comparisons on using Color Mechanic vs. Photoshop for changing color in high res work would be appreciated? < Alec, Color Mechanic is a useful quickfix tool for doing small or large changes that would take Photoshop several operations to do the same thing, but just as well of course. I find that I use it quite a lot now that I have got used to how to work it. By selecting multiple points and only shifting one, it's possible to alter one area of say blue without affecting all the others. Maybe my Photoshop technique was not up to scratch but I have found that using Color Mechanic is easier and has produced very good results faster. I've just tried it on a 64mb image with very good results. A friend of mine has used it on 25mb images scanned from fairly grainy negatives, 800 ASA, and found that it changed some pixels and not others, producing a more mottled effect, so it's not a magic fix every time. They do a trial download, to see how it works, but you can't save the altered image from the filter window back into Photoshop to see the real effect on the fullsize image without paying for it, but it's not expensive anyway.
