Hi and a quick question: I'm printing page-layout (Quark) files with TIFF and EPS graphic elements to my trusty Epson 740 (non-PostScript). To avoid the jaggies on the EPS elements, I'm going through PDF (PS>Distiller4>PDF) as a faux-PostScript interpreter. It works fine, everything's sharp, including the EPS, but here's the question: There's now an exaggerated dot pattern on the TIFFs (which were perfect right out of Quark) and the EPSs. Is that a Distiller issue or something else? What's the downside to using PDF format as a faux-RIP? Thanks! Harald - Turn off HTML mail features. Keep quoted material short.
